An old man lived by the river in a hut just outside the world

 An old man lived in a hut by the river, a little away from the world. He had a young man who was a seeker of truth. He asked, "Tell me, Baba ji, how does reading the Qur'an rust the heart when we don't even understand?" Come? Baba ji was lost in deep immersion. The young man asked again. When he asked the same question for the third time, Babaji replied in disgust. He said: Go there, there is a bucket lying in the corner. The young man was overwhelmed by this strange answer to his question because of the limitations of literature, but there was respect, so he got up quietly and took a bucket and went out to the river. The bucket was shin on the outside and black on the inside because of the coals.

As the young man took water from the river and picked up the bucket, he suddenly realized that there were holes in the bucket through which the water flowed as it reached the hut. 

He entered and Baba Ji heard the whole story and said go again. The young man understood that there must be some wisdom in Babaji's words so he picked up the bucket and started walking again. Filled with water again but then the same thing happened that all the water flowed before it reached. Baba ji heard but then Kamal said carelessly: Go and bring again. When the young man got tired after doing so many rounds, he said to Baba ji: 

You do not know why you are treating me like this while you are seeing that there is no water in the bucket. Now Baba Ji smiled and said: Just look at the bucket from inside. Is it as black as you saw it in the first round? The young man looked at the bucket and said: No, now it is clean, so many times that it is full of water. Babaji smiled sympathetically and said: 

The water has not reached but its attribute has made the bucket black and white, this is the attribute of the Holy Quran. ایک بزرگ دریا کے کنارے دنیا سے قدرے ہٹ کر کٹیا میں رہتے تھے، ان کے پاس ایک نوجوان گیاجو حق کا متلاشی تھا اس نے سوال کیا کہ: بابا جی بتائیے بھلا قرآن پاک پڑھنے سے دل کا زنگ کیسے اترتا ہے جبکہ ہمیں سمجھ بھی نہیں آتی؟ بابا جی گہرے استغراق میں گم تھے سنی ان سنی کردی. نوجوان نے پھر سوال کیا جب تیسری مرتبہ اس نے یہی سوال کیا تو بابا جی نے بیزارگی سے اسے جواب دیتے ہوئے کہا: جا وہاں کونے میں بالٹی پڑی ہے اس میں سے کوئلے نکال کر رکھ دے اور قریب ہی دریا سے پانی بھر کر لا. نوجوان حد ادب کی وجہ سے اپنے سوال کے اس عجیب جواب پر جزبز ہوا مگر احترام حائل تھا لہٍذا خاموشی سے اٹھا اور بالٹی لے کر باہر دریا کی جانب روانہ ہوگیا. کوئلوں کی وجہ سے بالٹی باہر سے چمکدار اور اندر سے سیاہ تھی.

جیسے ہی نوجوان نے دریا سے پانی لیا اور بالٹی اٹھا کر چلا تو یکایک اسے معلوم ہواکہ بالٹی میں سوراخ ہیں جن سے پانی کٹیا تک پہنچتے پہنچتے سارا بہہ گیا. وہ اندر داخل ہوا بابا جی نے سارا ماجرہ سنا اور کہا دوبارہ جا. نوجوان سمجھ گیا کہ بابا جی کی بات میں ضرور کوئی حکمت ہے لہذا بالٹی اٹھائی اور پھر چل پڑا. دوبارہ پانی بھرا مگر پھر وہی ہوا کہ سارا پانی پہنچنے سے پہلے بہہ گیا. بابا جی نے سنا لیکن پھر کمال لاپرواہی سے کہا کہ: جا پھر لا. نوجوان نے اس طرح کئی چکر کاٹے جب تھک گیا تو بابا جی کو کہنے لگا: آپ نجانے کیوں میرے ساتھ یہ سلوک کرر ہے ہیں جبکہ آپ دیکھ رہے ہیں کہ بالٹی میں کسی طرح سے پانی نہیں آ سکتا.

 اب بابا جی مسکرائے اور کہا: ذرا دیکھ بالٹی کو اندر سے کیا یہ ویسے ہی سیاہ ہے جیسے پہلے چکر میں تو نے اسے دیکھا تھا؟ نوجوان نے بالٹی کو دیکھا اور کہا: نہیں اب تو یہ صاف ہو گئی، اتنی بار پانی جو بھرا ہے اس میں. بابا جی نے شفقت سے مسکراتے ہوئے کہا: پانی نہیں پہنچا لیکن اسکی صفت نے بالٹی کو سیاہ سے سفید کردیا ہے، یہی قرآن پاک کی صفت ہے. پڑھتا جا، پڑھتا جا، پڑھتا جا اسکی صفات تیرے دل کو یونہی زنگ سے صاف کر کے اس دل میں موجود دنیا داری کے سوراخوں سے سارا زنگ بہا لے جائے گی آخر میں دل صاف ستھرا دنیا کی آلائش سے پاک ہوکر تجھے الله سے ہمیشہ ہمیشہ کیلئے جوڑدے گا. بس یہی تھا تیرے سوال کا جواب۔۔۔
